Psychological Forces

I’ve always been curious about why we do what we do and how we often rationalize our actions. Further, when things don’t go to our liking, I’m equally intrigued at how we attempt to modify the behaviour of others by instituting rules and regulations.

For example, we are a nation of drivers and unfortunately driving results in the occasional accident here and there. We don’t like accidents and so we ‘scream and shout’ at the ‘authorities’, who in turn attempt to modify the behaviour of drivers by regulating speed. This amounts to an exercise in sheer frustration when the expected results are not achieved. Read the rest of this entry »
